San Francisco-based retailer ShoeBiz and Converse have partnered on a goodwill project for the current season. The dual-shoe Halloween Pack will see 100% of the profits going to Youth Against Poverty andCompass Family Services – two organizations that specialize in helping homeless, drug-free and working families in San Francisco. Enlisting artists Alán González and Kris Mestizo – two men that have been heavily influenced by the Bay Area – they have cooked up Halloween-inspired sneakers with influence drawn from both of their childhoods. The Alán González Chuck Taylor All Star features what a kid would expect if he ordered “X-Ray glasses,” while the Kris Mestizo Chuck Taylor All Star looks to a childhood favorite costume, the mummy, as a source of creativity. The Converse and ShoeBiz collaboration will launch October 26 at ShoeBiz locations across San Francisco and online for $60 USD. |
