Tasked with creating a residence within the confines of a unique trapezoidal site, Arnon Nir Architecturehas designed the SKS House located in the suburbs of Tel Aviv, Israel. Opting to fit the largest cube-shaped structure possible on the unique site, the architectural firm created a dual-zone residence that affords its residents both private and public spaces. Facing a green sitting areato the front of the site, the public quarters include the formal living and dining rooms; at the other end of the house is the private area that includes an intimate family room, study and kitchen with views of the outdoor swimming pool. Seizing on the client’s fascination with textiles and textures, the house makes use of a multitude of building materials to give both horizontal and vertical surfaces texture and depth. |
