The Man Behind the MF Doom Mask

Better known as KEO or SCOTCH 79, Brooklyn-born graffiti artist and MC Blake Lethem recently sat down with Frank151 to talk about his long-standing collaborative relationship with Daniel Dumile, A.K.A. DOOM. Having met in 1996, Lethem helped to create the well-known cover art from DOOM’s debut LP, Operation: Doomsday, before going on to create the artist’s signature mask. In this four-minute video, Lethem touches on his inseparable friendship with Dumile, his influence on the hip-hop world and the evolution of DOOM’s signature mask from a customized Darth Maul costume to its current state.
