Regardless of generation, it is difficult not to acknowledge the significance of the Polo Ralph Lauren brand and the countless influential individuals who have backed the label. It was during the early ’90s, one of the brand’s most lucrative periods, that the distinguished “Sportsman” line was introduced; specializing in T-shirts all the way to rugged outerwear. The early ’90s also introduced the classic cookie patch logo, as shown above in a youth XL (logo slightly smaller) – a patch that can be found not only on polos, but rugbys, knitwear and jackets. Longtime Polo collector Seth Bradley was obliging enough to present us with a few articles from this line along with other shirts from his prized collection, including an all-over-print shirt made in Europe and an extremely rare sail boat print T-shirt dating back to ’92. Although the brand has lost some of its luster over the years, these garments stand testament to the success of the label during its golden years. |
