Louis Vuitton – Tribute to Muhammad Ali – “Word” + “Dream” | Video

Yasiin Bey (aka Mos Def), Ogilvy Paris, and director Stuart McIntyre come together to pay tribute to the world’s greatest boxer (and the sport’s most memorable personality) in two beautifully produced videos for Louis Vuitton’s first film campaign. Bey, having successfully straddled the worlds of hip-hop and fashion culture, was the perfect choice to retell Muhammad Ali’s poetic speeches set in a dark, shadowy boxing ring while Niels Show Meulman reflects the words on the ring’s canvas in beauitufl, flowing calligraphy. The follow-up video, entitled “Dream” interprets Ali’s words, using Bey’s powerful storytelling abilities to breath new life into one of the world’s greatest cultural moments.
