Familiarities have been extended between Boston-based entities Concepts and New Balance for the release of the S.E.A.L 999 sneaker. Highlighting this shoe are characteristics exemplary of the high-performance boot used commonly by the US Navy SEALs: the OTB Abyss II. Typifying the utmost in functionality and raising the New Balance aesthetic to new levels, Arc’teryx was also central to the design of this release. Among the bevy of features integrated into this new edition of the 999 are micro ripstop textiles allowing for flexibility, minimal seams and water & wind repellent treatments that enhance wind resistance as well as stain-resistant microfiber suede. Also standing out on this sneaker is Morse coding on the tongue and distinct ’999′ branding. A release date has been set for August 4, 2012 in-store at Concepts, while the price has been appointed at $150 USD. |
