KICKS ON FILM – SNEAKERMUSEUM OPENING | EVENT RECAP

Sneakers do more than just a cover for your feet, they help to present an image and compliment the style of its wearer. This is true on the big screen just as much as it is on the streets; just think of Forrest Gump running in his Nike Cortez’s, Marty McFly’s Nike Air MAGS, and the Nike Dunk in School Daze. To help showcase some of the most memorable cinematic sneaker moments, the CologneSneakermuseum launched their third exhibition on October 6 entitled “Kicks On Film” to a packed house. Those who stopped in got a look at not only at some of the above-mentioned sneakers that appeared in these films, but also sneakers inspired by the films and rare film paraphernalia, including McFly’s Hoverboard and a Orion Pax-designed LEGO recreation of scenes from Back to the Future. The exhibition, which runs through early 2013, is open every Friday from 4-8pm at the museum in Cologne.
