ADIDAS CONDUCTOR HI “DEFENSE” LAUNCH PARTY WITH JIM JONES
adidas Originals has teamed up with ATMOS to kickoff the release of the adidas Conductor Hi “Defense” on Friday, November 30. The shoe, made popular by Patrick Ewing, pays homage to New York basketball with the Knicks’ orange and blue highlighting the black high top constructed of tough material and reflective branding. The launch event, hosted by DJ Prostyle, will be held at the ATMOS location in NYC and will feature a performance by Harlem’s own Jim Jones. ‘Designer Drugs’ by Jonathan Paul

During tinkering phases in the development of Nike‘s Lunarlon sole, designers from Nike Innovation Kitchen increased stability in the mold by freezing it. After adjusting their approach to this new form of sneaker technology, the end result indicated that experimentation from the Beaverton camp was a key part of their innovative creations. While availability at a retail level may not be slated, Nike has commemorated one of the brand’s more surprising yet important research landmarks by immortalizing the iconic Air Force 1 sole in Popsicle form. |

Japanese retailer atmos has teamed up with New Balance for the third in their “Face Off” series of collaborative shoes, this time reconsidering New Balance’s ever-popular CM996 model. For this rendition of the shoe, atmos took advantage of various materials that change colors when exposed to ultraviolet rays. The result is a variable palate of colors that force the wearer to observe the dual nature of things. Always conceptually strong, the shoe’s form is completed by custom-designed graphics on the tongue and insoles. OriginalFake x Porter 2012 Fall/Winter Collection

Employing a durable cotton-based exterior, each item features an all-over “X” print mimicking KAWS‘s ubiquitous “X” eyes. Supplying a vast price spectrum of accessories from ¥8,500 to ¥34,000 JPY (approximately $105 to $418 USD), art and fashion enthusiasts alike will rejoice in the offering which consists of a notebook cover, wallet cord, helmet bag, backpack and four wallet variations. Subcrew x Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star
Converse teams up with Hong Kong-based Subcrew to produce a special brick-red Chuck Taylor All-Star. In addition to the white rubber outsole and the matching red eyelets threaded with round laces, Subcrew’s logo appears near the hi-top’s heel. Easily the most distinguishing feature of these hi-tops is the Common Projects-esque code stamped as “23 1 20 19 3 2012″ on the tongue as well as inside the upper of the shoe. Hurt You Bad Goes from Graffiti Blog to Print Magazine
Hurt You Bad, one of the premier authorities on graffiti in Britain, has successfully transitioned into the realm of print after establishing an online presence for several years. The entity, which has documented graffiti and its various artistic subsidiaries for over 10 years, released the first issue of their print magazine recently. Titled “Concealed Intentions,” this issue features work from the infamous SMART Crew, Will Tuck, Sean Vegezzi and many more. The magazine also documents the travels of several writers from around the world, all of which contribute to a cultural collage that depicts graffiti’s current state of affairs. The magazine is curated by an innately mysterious and diverse, necessarily ‘other,’ group of individuals, which will certainly make for an interesting artistic stimulus. |
